Energy Sources and Consumption on Sails
Energy Sources and Usage of Sails
Energy Management on Sails ⚡
Energy is one of the most limited resources on sails. When the engine is not running, energy on sails is supplied from batteries.
Battery Groups
There are two groups of batteries on sails: the starter battery group and the service battery group.
- Starter Battery Group: The batteries used to start the engine are generally always charged.
- Service Battery Group: These batteries supply all the energy needs of the sail and therefore discharge quickly. For this reason, they must be charged every 6 to 8 hours.
Energy Saving Tip
Therefore, energy should be conserved and unnecessary energy consumption should be avoided.
